Steam rises off a chain of turquoise pools clinging to a volcanic canyon wall, and the river threads warm against your calves as you step from one stone rim to the next. A day at Tolantongo begins with a long drive out of the city and ends with the canyon’s low light folding around the grotto mouth — in between you’ll hike slick steps, float in thermal streams, and squeeze into a shadowed cave where water carves dramatic passages.
