About

Take your paddle experience to the next level with our guided Tide Ride to the Bay tour!

This fast-paced paddleboard ride is designed to take advantage of the fastest ebb tide flow, offering an exhilarating one-way journey to Sandy Hook Bay. With transportation back to Oceanport Paddle Club (OPC) provided, you’ll paddle a distance of approximately 7.4 miles in about two hours, with times nearing 8-minute miles on the current. Your destination is The Proving Grounds in Highlands, a great spot for dinner or cocktails, and each paddle ends with live music to celebrate your adventure!

The ride uses 12.5’ touring boards with displacement hulls, designed for enhanced speed and efficiency. While these boards are quicker than our standard rentals, they are less stable side-to-side, making this paddle best suited for experienced paddlers who are comfortable with balance and extended paddling.

This is a non-stop paddle, but you can sit or kneel as needed while you enjoy the scenic beauty of the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers, with the current carrying you along. Your guide, either Chris, Sean, or Mark, is an expert in the course and will ensure you navigate safely while maximizing your speed and enjoyment.

What to Bring: Towel Bathing suit Extra sunblock Extra water (hydration is highly recommended)

The boards are equipped with bungees for securing bottles, hydro flasks, etc.

Please note: 24-hour cancellation notice is required. Rates: $75 per session.
