Thursday Laughs at The Remedy: Montreal Central Station Stand-Up Show

The Remedy at Deli Planet turns a pedestrian corner of Montreal’s Central Station into Thursday-night theater, a quick, cheerful break from the workweek. Located inside Central Station at 895 Rue De la Gauchetière O, Montréal, QC H3B 2M4, Canada, the show brings energetic stand‑up, surprise guests, and full deli-style dinner service into one compact, late-night room. Walk in from the underground concourse and you feel the city shift: commuters and travelers become an audience, and a line of headline comics—many with credits from Just For Laughs, OFF JFL and Zoofest—deliver tight, topical sets that land fast and loud. The Remedy’s strength is its pace: doors open at 7pm, show at 8:30pm, and the 1.5-hour runtime is built for midweek attention spans. With easy access via transit and downtown hotels, it’s a natural choice for visitors looking for authentic local nightlife without the tourist prices. Deli Planet’s compact footprint makes for a friendly, clublike atmosphere where comedians can riff directly with the crowd. The menu leans toward hearty, shareable plates and late‑night staples that pair with local beers and cocktails; arriving early for dinner is a common tip to secure the best seats. Production values stay simple—focused lighting, a clear mic, and a stage framed by exposed brick and transit-city architecture—putting the emphasis where it should be: on the writing and delivery. For travelers, The Remedy functions as both entertainment and a cultural snapshot. You’ll catch rising performers testing new bits alongside veterans dropping crowd-pleasers, and the show regularly scouts talent from Montreal’s festival circuit. It’s educational in a way: you hear local references, language play, and cultural observations that give texture to the city beyond guidebook highlights. Practical notes: the show is ideal for date nights, small groups, or anyone seeking a lively Thursday option. Accessibility details and group booking options are not listed in the provided material; arrive early if you want the best seating or table service. The Remedy is notable not just for laughs but for how it captures downtown Montreal’s momentum—public transit, late dining, and live performance intersecting in one energetic, walkable block. If you want an evening that’s equal parts funny and local, this is where downtown Montreal drops its weekday routines and leans into laughter. Consider making a full night of it: grab a sandwich and local brew downstairs, then wander the connected Underground City between venues. The room’s intimacy means comedians test timing and material, so repeat visits often reward with entirely different lineups. While Deli Planet focuses on contemporary stand-up, the show’s links to Montreal’s festival scene make it a useful stop for anyone trying to read the city’s current cultural pulse. Tickets sell out on busy nights, so booking ahead helps.
