A thin morning mist lifts off the terraces as you step away from the stone houses of Imlil and begin climbing toward Tizi N'tamatert. The path narrows between stacked walls and almond trees; the air is dry and cold at first, warming as the sun pushes you across scree and pasture. By midday the ridgeline opens to views of the western High Atlas, peaks cupped like fists around the valleys you’ll cross.

You should have regular hiking experience and be comfortable with sustained uphill sections of 500–700 m and 6–8 hour walking days.
Overnights are in simple village guesthouses (traditional houses) in Tinghrin and IdAissa—expect shared rooms and local meals.

Spring and fall are mild; summers can be hot at lower elevations and snowy or cold above 2,200 m in winter—pack layers and check conditions before travel.
