Halfway between the divine and the human, there is the Path of the Gods: here the sea is blue like the sky and the sky is blue like the Mediterranean sea. Its name refers to a magic reality beyond man’s imagination. At that top the view is indeed breathtaking. Poets and writers for centuries used to fall in love with the nature of this place. They composed stories and poems about it. They immortalized it by the power of their written word.
Italo Calvino wrote: “the Path of the Gods, that road suspended above the magic bay of the Sirens, furrowed again today by memory and myth.”
From the Path of the Gods it is possible to admire the landscape stretching all the way from Praiano to Punta Campanella and from Li Galli Island to Capri. In a few minutes you will arrive at the the Grotta del Biscotto, a small open space where the trail begins. Here it is possible to admire old houses that were embedded into the rocky ground many years ago.
A natural water source refreshes the adventurers that arrive here after about 3 km of hiking. Along the way there is a fork in the hiking path, on the left, the path arrives to Praiano while on the right the path leads to Nocelle, a district of Positano: we will turn right at that intersection. About 1680 steps will lead us downhill to Positano, a marvelous town on the coast with its typical and colored houses which give a magical atmosphere.
If you love hiking and enjoy nature you can’t miss this adventure. Lush forests and flowers, splendid view and far-reaching horizon will be a perfect treat to your heart and your eyes.
