About

The Mosaic activity is hands-on and creative. It engages your group in a fun creative activity. It’s something everyone will remember for years. We hope you give it a try.

Visiting and working in our professional Barcelona ceramics studio is a unique experience. The opportunity to try your hand at this craft tradition is a unique and memorable hands-on experience.

You will learn the basics of artisan ceramics while at the same time participate in a hands-on activity.

What is the creative group craft activity?

The Mosaic. This activity is designed for a group to have fun and to get to know each other a little better in a friendly, open environment. At the end of the activity the group will have created a ceramic mosaic with a tile from each person. The mosaic will then be dried, twice kiln fired and glazed. You receive a framed mosaic with one tile from each member of the group. The mosaic is ready about two to three weeks after the activity.

Timeline:

  • 20 minutes: general introductions and instructions.

  • 1 ½ hours: in pairs, the group learns about their partners passions. They then create a representative artisan tile of that passion for their partner. In addition everyone makes one additional tile for themselves to take home as a memory.

  • 10 minutes: each attendee presents their tile creation and explains the partner's passion to the group. Explaining their reasoning behind the choices made for representing the passion.

Result: the group creates a mosaic showing the diversity of the group and hopefully learn more about each other. In addition each person takes an additional personal tile home.
