This hike is incredibly challenging, climbing almost 900 metres in elevation gain and 2,830 stairs. In approximately 2 hours we will reach the 1,127 metre summit. What to bring

  • Clothing: Loose fitting, comfortable clothes, or sportswear. Closed footwear, no sandals or flip-flops on all tours.
  • Layering clothes is best as Vancouver – and throughout BC – we frequently encounter changing weather conditions especially in the mountains.
  • For hikes, proper shoes such as running shoes, or hiking footwear with good support is mandatory.
  • A day backpack to carry your personal belongings.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat for sun protection.
  • Camera or phone to take pictures.
  • Cash or credit cards for purchases along the way.

Adventure Tips

Wear sturdy hiking shoes

Supportive, closed-toe footwear with good grip is essential on the steep stairway trail.

Start early to avoid crowds

Morning departures improve trail conditions and maximize quiet time on the ascent.

Bring layers for changing weather

Mountain conditions can shift rapidly—pack a lightweight jacket and moisture-wicking clothes.

Use the Skyride down

Save energy and enjoy elevated views by descending the gondola rather than hiking down.
