What to expect:

After a brief introduction of the surroundings, you will enter the Colosseum through a privileged entrance directly into the ARENA.

You will learn about the told and untold stories and myths about this place while you approach the arena. The very spectacular games held in it and their social and political function. The very high enthusiasm they raised among the population and their participated role in the execution process.

You will hear stories of cruel fights between gladiators and exotic animals; you will also be told about the ingenious technical details and the long preparations that made these incredible shows happen. The underground cages where the animals were kept and the gladiators' training school. Architectural and engineering details will be revealed to you showcasing the ancient Romans’ constructive capabilities. You will hear about how they could transform this building from an open fighting arena into a sealed giant pool for sea-battle games.

Our guides will tell you about what is true about the Colosseum and what is just a myth made up during the later centuries. He will also make sure you get the best view of the arena from selected spots.

• You will receive a confirmation voucher with further details after your booking.
• Once the tour finishes you can continue staying inside the Colosseum for as long as you want. If you choose to join also our Roman Forums and Palatine Hill tour, you will be given enough free time to explore the Colosseum on your own after the end of the Colosseum tour.
• Do not lose your tickets, you can use them to access the Roman Forums and Palatine Hill if you decide to continue on your own. In order to enter the Roman Forums and Palatine Hill, you will need to exit the Colosseum.
• A moderate amount of walking is involved. The Colosseum tour is wheelchair-accessible; the Roman Forums and Palatine Hill tour is not.
• Large bags and suitcases are not allowed into the Colosseum. No luggage deposit is available inside or nearby.
• Strict security checks through metal detectors take place at the Colosseum entrance. Please be aware that this might cause 5 to 30 minutes to wait for entering the monument. In the case of the early morning/late afternoon Colosseum tour, this wait is minimized.

Cancellation policy

• For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the starting time of the experience
• Full refunds are not possible for cancellations made after the 24 hours
• Amendments are not allowed after 24 hours and are always subject to availability and price changes
• No refunds in case of no-show on the part of the customer
• If the tour is canceled due to poor weather, masses, concerts, and other events, you will be given the option of an alternative date or a full refund
