Adventure Tips

Bring insect repellent

Mosquitoes and midges are common in the rainforest, especially near water—use repellent to stay comfortable.

Wear sturdy walking shoes

Trails can be slippery and uneven; solid shoes with grip will make rainforest hikes safer and more enjoyable.

Pack swimwear and towel

You'll have opportunities to swim in freshwater pools and creeks along the tour—be ready to jump in.

Prepare for sudden rain

The Wet Tropics can experience quick showers; a lightweight raincoat will keep you dry without overheating.
