Sunlight slants off the Teton Range as you step onto a wide, stable board at the Big Eddy access. The river moves with a patient current, sometimes playful, sometimes insistent, guiding paddlers through willow-lined bends with the Tetons keeping silent watch to the west. Along the 4.5-mile float you trade the town hum for rolling water, spotting trout flashes, beaver chips, and the occasional moose peering from the willows.
