The river opens like a ribbon through steep jungle and cultivated terraces, water darting between black basalt boulders as your raft catches the current. Early morning light slants through palms and bamboo; the guide’s voice is steady as the first set of rapids dares you forward. For three hours you’ll alternate between heart-pumping drops and calm pools where waterfalls throw cool curtains across the raft.
