Teen after school sewing classes - 16:00-17:30 (Amsterdam West)
In our engaging sewing lessons for kids aged 7-12, students will explore creativity through hands-on projects, learning essential techniques like pattern cutting, sewing, and embroidery. Under the guidance of professional designer Michelle, children will gain confidence and skills while using repurposed materials, making this a unique and memorable experience.
Duration: 2h
It is also possible for the youngest ones to start learning the clothing making techniques! As for riding a bike, if you start young you’ll never forget. In our kids sewing lessons they can learn to make their first pieces and be creative with combining fabrics, colors and different details. Both Dutch and English speaking children are welcome to join. Teacher can speak both Dutch and English.
In this after-school course, children aged 7-12 will learn to sew with a sewing machine and gain an understanding of sewing basics. Students will leave this class with the skills and confidence to tackle more sewing as they develop valuable exposure to creativity, design, fine motor skills, construction/assembly, and more.
Different techniques we will address in the classes: pattern cutting, pinning, sewing (by hand and machine), embroidering, natural dyeing, hand-weaving.
On this page it is possible to book a single lesson for your kid (as a try-out or to book it when available). It is also possible to enroll for a full block, which gives a cheaper price per lesson and more time to develop skills and finish products.
Teacher Michelle comes up with different projects that the kids can do in the classes. But some classes are also free for the kids to decide what to make. Michelle will always take the experience of the kid(s) in consideration.
Materials are not included, but we use a lot of repurposed materials in class that we provide (to teach them also the importance of re-use) and it is possible to purchase extra materials in our little store if needed. But kids can also bring their own materials.
