The ride begins with the quiet hiss of electric assist as you leave the rental lot and drop into the Gorge’s broad corridor. Sage-scrubbed slopes and basalt cliffs lean toward the Columbia like an audience watching your slow roll; the river’s surface flashes and dares you to look away. You’ll pedal—sometimes gently, sometimes with a little boost—along a largely car-free stretch toward Mosier, stopping where views and vintages line up.
