About This Adventure

Park your vehicle at Kariri Point Reserve/Boat Shed Bay before boarding the water taxi to Tarawera Falls.

The Tarawera Falls walking track runs parallel to the Tarawera River which is the final outlet to the sea for seven of Rotorua’s lakes.

Duration

40 minutes each way by water taxi. Loop walk 3.5hrs.

Schedule

9:00am - departs Kariri Point Reserve/Boat Shed Bay, Lake Tarawera 40 minute cruise to Te Tapahoro Bay, Tarawera Outlet

9:45am Start the 1.5hrs walk to the Tarawera Falls. Enjoy the spectacular Falls before beginning the return walk to Tapahoro Bay, Tarawera Outlet and the Lake Tarawera Water Taxi.

01:00pm Water Taxi pick up at The Jetty, Tapahoro Bay for your return to Kariri Point Reserve/Boat Shed Bay.

01:30pm Arrive at Kariri Point Reserve/Boat Shed Bay, Lake Tarawera.
