You arrive by light aircraft, the winelands shrinking beneath the wings until the Cape Fold mountains give way to a flat, bleached plain. The plane drops low over cedar-streaked ridges, then eases onto the private airstrip by Tankwa Tented Camp. A cool drink awaits; the desert inhales and the sky opens.

The trip includes return light aircraft flights from Stellenbosch airfield to the private Tankwa airstrip; ground transfers on the farm are provided.
