The takeoff is a short car ride up from a salty parking lot; then the wind lifts you and the town of Cefalù drops away like a map. From the harness you sit back while the pilot reads the sky, the Tyrrhenian Sea folding into crescents below and the cathedral's twin towers cutting a clean silhouette on shore.
