90 minutes

The tours will have you on the water for about 90 minutes. After a safety briefing and fitting our PFD's, we set off to explore the scenic waterfront. Starting from the North Esk river, we pass the Old Launceston Seaport complex and marina as we make our way to the Tamar River with a view back to the city. Next, we pedal under Kings Bridge into the lower reaches of the South Esk river. The river flows gently through dolerite cliffs after having made its way through the Cataract Gorge, a popular parkland on the edge of the city. The tour then concludes back at the Seaport after exploring more of the Tamar.
The morning tours usually have less wind, where this is also a high tide that offers great reflections; we have marked these tours as such, but cannot guarantee the wind conditions. Please feel free to contact us within 48 hours of departure for a more up to date forecast.
Children under 12 are recommended to travel with an adult in a double canoe, depending on ability. Single canoes also available.
This tour is dependent on weather and tides, so we may suggest an alternative time to you if the weather is not suitable.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your tour to receive a thorough safety briefing and gear fitting from guides.
Choose morning departures when winds tend to be lighter and reflections on the river are sharper for photos.
Though you won’t be hiking far, water-resistant shoes help with getting on and off the kayak safely.
Protect your electronics from splashes while capturing unique perspectives during your pedal-powered ride.
