Swan Upping is a yearly tradition on the Thames & The Georgian has been the lead vessel taking The Dyers company on-board for the last few years.
We thought it may be nice to dedicate a cruise to the traditions and events that happen on the Thames. This is naturally commentary based and you won’t actually see or take part in any of the traditions or swan upping however we do hope you learn something about the Thames.
The Dyers staff usually bring along a picnic to enjoy as they chase the swans up the river so we are doing the same as we cruise along listening to the live commentary by our skipper.
This menu is served to the table and is to be shared in groups of four followed by a cup of tea or coffee.
• Brussels Pâté Pot • Mini Pork Pies • Sausage Rolls • Cheese Straws & Crisps • Green Salad & Potato Salad • Hummus, Cheese & Chive dips • Baker’s Basket of Bread
For this cruise we have two pickup locations:
Windsor Leisure Center, Stovell Rd, Windsor, Berkshire SL4 5JB

The Swan Upping ceremony takes place on specific days in July; reserve your spot in advance to ensure availability.
Even summer days can get chilly on the water, so bring a lightweight jacket or fleece for comfort.
Swans and other river wildlife are best captured with a zoom lens or smartphone telephoto for crisp photos from the boat.
The Georgian boat’s gangway can be narrow and wet—wear sturdy shoes and take care as you board and disembark.
The Swan Upping tradition has been practiced on the Thames since the 12th century as a royal means of protecting swan populations.
The Swan Upping helps support swan health and monitors changes in the river ecosystem, contributing to local biodiversity preservation.
Protects against river breezes and changing weather conditions.
