Each session offers unique insights and hands-on activities, making it a memorable opportunity to learn how to live more sustainably while connecting with your community.

About

Join Wimberley Parks and Rec for our sustainability series! This is a six-week program that will focus on a different aspect of sustainable living each week. You can come to one, or you can come to all of them! We will talk about sustainable swaps, how to make your home more sustainable, and even how to make sustainable crafts.

Dates

  • August 7th, 6:30 pm – Water Conservation Session and Tips – Join water conservationist David Baker to learn about the importance of water in our community and how you can incorporate water sustainability practices into your everyday life.
  • August 14th, 6:30 pm – Dye and Discover with food scraps – The Parks and Rec department will discuss fast fashion and how to upgrade your wardrobe sustainably with organic, homemade clothing dye.
  • August 21st, 6:30 pm – Sustainable Living – Do you have a Wimberley small business that practices sustainability? Contact nmulin@cityofwimberley.com for an opportunity to showcase your business and the skills you use!
  • August 28th, 6:30 pm – Engaged Ecology Initiative – Engage in a dialogue about the social aspects of sustainability and ecology with the Engaged Ecology Initiative.
  • September 4th, 6:30 pm – Conscious Creativity – Get crafty and consciously creative with projectART. Learn to reimagine how to use materials you may otherwise throw away.
  • September 11th, 6:30 pm – Inviting Birds into our Yards – Join Craig Hensley for a discussion on how to make our green spaces more habitable and friendly for our avian companions.
