Sean grew up in Wrightsville Beach - Wilmington, NC; and began to fall in love with surfing at 8 years old. He is both knowledgeable & passionate about the area, the ocean & it's waves.
With nearly 20 years of experience instructing and a true love for teaching; he's become a great surf instructor.
This is a private lesson....whether it's just yourself (1 student) learning, or if you'd like to book the lesson for a group of students) (up to 4 max. per lesson) - the lesson is not an 'open group'.

1 hour total. Roughly 15 min. of land instruction & 45 min. of water instruction (dependent on Student's needs)
Your lesson will take place at 650 South Lumina Ave. Wrightsville Beach, NC, aka BEACH ACCESS #36 or Crystal Pier.

After parking, walk up the Beach Access 36 entrance sidewalk/footpath. PLEASE MEET SEAN ON THE BEACH right where in that area where you first hit the sand. THIS IS THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PIER (left side if facing ocean). Sean will be wearing a Sean's Private Surf Instruction T-shirt with surfboard in hand!
"Sean is punctually challenged!" There is a good chance he will be meeting you right at the lesson's start time....or even a few minutes behind (yikes!! just bein' honest)....he's on surfer time. If your lesson gets started behind schedule, your lesson will absolutely be extended. You can count on a full one hour surf lesson....and it'll be an epic authentic surfing experience!
During summertime week days, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to find adequate parking. Summertime weekend lessons, we suggest you arrive 30 min early to find a parking spot.
Parking costs $5.00-$6.50/hr (dependent on where you park) during the warm months. Free parking in winter. Check WB town parking info on their website if you have any questions
We suggest bringing water, a light snack (optional), sunscreen, a towel and a warm change of clothes! We provide the surfboard and a wetsuit (if needed due to water temperature). You can always bring your own surfboard to have Sean teach you on
IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL...Full refund will be issued for surf lesson cancellations with 24 hours or more of notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will not be refunded, however, the payment will be kept as a credit which can be used any time in the future for up to 3 years. No shows will not be refunded. Canceling less than 30 minutes before lesson start time is considered a ‘no show’. IF WE NEED TO CANCEL....Full refund or Rescheduling (whatever you prefer) will be issued in case of operator cancellation (we only cancel due to unsafe weather and/or surf conditions).
