We begin by taking a scenic cruise through Casco Bay, passing lighthouses, historic forts and islands. Along the way we pull a lobster trap to discuss the iconic Maine lobster fishery and it's conservation principals. In contrast to our other excursions this experience is more about relaxation than participation. Shortly after 7:00 we disembark on Peaks Island for a classic downeast Lobster Bake at Island Lobster Company. Blessed with a spectacular view of Casco Bay, there's no better place to watch the light fade over Portland's skyline.
Please dress for the weather and consider extra layers due to cooler temperatures in the evening. Beverages are okay on the boat, but cannot be taken to the restaurant (they have a full bar) We do not provide any food or drinks onboard.
Is this a dinner cruise? No. From 6:30 - 7:00 we take a scenic lobstering cruise through Casco Bay near lighthouses, historic forts and islands. When we reach Peaks Island at 7:00 the steaming hot lobster bake is ready to begin. Enjoy the view and savor the taste of Maine until 8:15 for the leisurely return to Portland.
What if I'm not ready to leave the island? If you're having a wonderful time on Peaks Island you can opt to ride the Casco Baylines ferry back to Portland. The ferry terminal is adjacent to the Island Lobster Company and provides regularly scheduled service to Portland. We charge a one-way fare on Casco baylines behalf if you choose this option.
What if it’s raining? We operate the excursions rain or shine unless conditions are extreme.
