Suitable for most fitness levels; the route is short but requires quick reactions for uneven terrain
Take the wheel at dusk and drive 35 km of off-road trails through the Miranda forest and along Peneda-Gerês vistas. This two-hour sunset buggy tour combines full-throttle scenery with practical safety briefings and dramatic mountain-to-sea panoramas.
The engine coughs to life and the forest inhales around you — pine resin, wet earth and a cooler breath of mountain air. You steer a low-slung CFMoto buggy onto a red dirt track that climbs away from Arcos de Valdevez, sunlight slicing between trunks and the world opening in panels: terraced fields, schist ridges and, in the distance, a slate-blue seam where sea meets sky. Two hours later the sun will fall behind the Serra do Soajo; for now the landscape dares you to keep moving.

Bring your driver’s license and ID and arrive 10 minutes early — check-in closes 10 minutes after the scheduled time.
Temperatures drop quickly after sunset at higher elevations; bring a windproof midlayer to stay comfortable.
A refundable €300 deposit per vehicle is required by card — make sure your card has sufficient limit.
Use a waterproof case or dry bag; dust and vibrations are constant on off-road sections.
The route crosses ancient drovers’ roads and rural villages shaped by centuries of granite agriculture and transhumance.
Peneda-Gerês is carefully managed for biodiversity; stay on designated tracks to avoid trampling sensitive alpine and peatland habitats.
Keeps feet secure when entering/exiting the buggy and on muddy trails.
Blocks the chill after sunset at higher elevations.
