The boat slips away from Zadar’s stone pier and the city’s silhouette—Roman walls, bell towers, and the flat-topped Donatus Church—recedes into a late-golden haze. Around you, the Adriatic takes on color, gulls wheel, and the distant islands of the Zadar archipelago cut the horizon into islands and channels; a glass of local prosecco catches the light.
