Just before dawn the Caribbean flattens into light, a pale sheet that pushes the horizon forward. At Playa del Carmen’s beachfront club small groups gather under a sky that shifts from ink to coral; instructors check boards and leashes while the sea tugs politely at the sand. You step onto an inflatable SUP, feel the board settle, and paddle out as the sun releases itself over Cozumel’s silhouette.
