Before the sun fully clears the rim of the Basin of Mexico, burners hiss and a giant envelope breathes color into the cold air. You lift off from Globopuerto Teotihuacan and the valley opens beneath you: geometric avenues, the broad shoulder of the Pyramid of the Sun, and the smaller Moon—ancient forms made new in morning light.
