THE ADVENTURE COLLECTIVE® · Independent discovery and booking for outdoor travel

Read the full experience

You lift off before dawn, the basket tilting as the burner opens and the desert's chill gives way to a gentle climb. Below, dunes roll in long, wind-sculpted ridges and a pale oasis reflects the first thin slice of sun. The city silhouette fades; the air smells of dry sand and distant scrub, and a falcon cuts a dark shape against the copper sky during a deluxe flight.

Adventure tips

Hydrate before pickupDrink water before the pre-dawn transfer and bring a refillable bottle for after the flight—desert air is dry and deceptively dehydrating.

Dress in layersTemperatures drop before sunrise; bring a lightweight jacket that you can remove as the sun climbs.

Protect your cameraUse a neck strap and avoid bulky lenses—the basket limits movement and sudden burner noise can jolt footage.

Confirm accessibility needs earlyOperators offer wheelchair-accessible transport and can arrange infant seats, but notify them when booking.

Recommended gear

Sun protection (sunscreen + hat): Strong low-angle sun at dawn and reflective sand increase UV exposure even in cooler months.
Light insulated jacket: Pre-dawn desert temperatures can be brisk; a packable jacket keeps you comfortable during inflation and landing.
Sturdy closed-toe shoes: Uneven sand at the launch/landing site requires stable footwear for both walking and brief climbs in/out of the basket.
Compact camera or smartphone with strap: Bring a camera with good dynamic range—sunrise light is dramatic but high-contrast.
