Before sunrise the desert holds its own hush: sand cool underfoot, light a thin promise on the horizon, and the balloon’s envelope unfurls like a slow-breathing giant. You climb into the wicker basket with the pilot’s briefing still warm in your ears, and the burner’s rush lifts you into a sky that opens wide over ochre dunes and ribboned highways below.
