Before dawn the minivan slips out of Tbilisi and the city lights shrink behind you. A cold wind meets the windows as the semi‑desert of southeastern Georgia unfolds — low ridges stained in ochre, rust and pale ochre like spilled pigments. You climb a short ridgeline, headlamp bobbing, and reach the sunrise perch just as the valley fog thins and the first light draws hard lines across the Rainbow Hills. The scene is stripped of crowds and loudness; only the wind and the distant clatter of stone.
