The trail spits you out onto wind-swept rock and Atlantic light. At dawn the eastern tip of Madeira—Ponta São Lourenço—sharpens into color: ochre cliffs, wind-buffed scrub and the sea opening in every direction. A transfer from Funchal, Caniço, Santa Cruz or Machico drops you at the trailhead where a short orientation and map set you loose on a self-guided route that rewards early starts.
