The hull cuts a silver line through the pre-dawn sea and the Algarve wakes in shades of gold. At sunrise the cliffs throw long shadows, the water is glassy, and the Benagil sea cave sits like a private room carved by waves. You climb into a rigid inflatable at the Portimão pier, strap in, and head east along limestone cliffs where the surf has carved arches, grottos, and vertical chimneys.
