Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy in Crackenback: Snowy Mountains Bike Rental

Where the high-country tracks unspool beneath snow gums and granite bluffs, the Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy - Extra Small at Harro's Snowsports gives riders an unfair advantage on rocky, steep terrain. Located in Crackenback, New South Wales, just a short race to Thredbo and Lake Crackenback, this rental packs the guts of a downhill bike into a nimble trail chassis. Built on a tough M5 Alloy frame with 150mm of travel, an adjustable head-tube angle, and Fox FLOAT Performance suspension, the EVO Comp Alloy bridges the gap between cross-country lightness and all-mountain aggression. The no-fuss SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain and 30mm-wide alloy wheels mean confident shifts and durable rolling across chunky rock gardens and root-strewn singletrack. SWAT Door integration and Specialized-specific touches make it more than a hire bike—it’s an invitation to push lines you didn’t think you could take without a DH rig. Practical details matter here. Rentals are available in 2-hour, 4-hour, and full-day blocks; check-in is at Harro's Snowsports 1650 Alpine way Crackenback nsw 2627—please arrive 10 minutes early with your confirmation email. Every rental includes a premium helmet and a water-bottle mount; note the height restriction for this Extra Small model is 150–160cm. Harro’s also runs two daily bike shuttles from Lake Crackenback to Thredbo (9:30am & 2:30pm) for $20 per person—bookings required. What makes this offering stand out is how it unlocks the local terrain. The nearby trails transition from fast, flowy descents to technical chutes carved through ancient granite and glacially sculpted hollows. Expect snow gums, alpine herbfields, and the occasional sighting of wallabies and wombats as you descend toward valley lakes. For cultural context, these trails sit on the traditional lands of the Ngarigo people; riders should respect cultural sites and follow Leave No Trace principles. This setup is ideal for riders who want to push limits without owning a big rig—perfect for visitors staying in Thredbo or Lake Crackenback who want a short session or a full-day exploration of the Snowy Mountains’ better singletrack. Safety-first riders will appreciate the included helmet and robust components; adventurous riders will love how the geometry and 150mm travel let you take bolder lines with confidence. To get the most from a day on the Stumpjumper EVO Comp Alloy, pair it with a shuttle, bring layers for alpine weather swings, and plan for a mix of technical rock gardens and fast, open descents. Meet at Harro's Snowsports and ride smart—this bike turns ambitious lines into achievable laps. Bring a spare tube, multi-tool, and hydration; the rental shop requires 24-hour cancellation notice for refunds. Book via the provided FareHarbor link and plan your laps around shuttle departures to maximize downhill time and minimize hiking and enjoy it.
