We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at the Coyote Aventuras office. Once you arrive, please ring doorbell A to let your street art guide know that you’re outside. After we introduce one another and get to know each other a little, we’ll head out to observe the living and breathing museum that is Oaxaca’s street art scene.
Our street art walk in Oaxaca offers a vibrant journey through the city’s cultural soul, where colorful murals and captivating graffiti adorn its streets. Beginning in the historic center, you’ll find yourself immersed in a kaleidoscope of artistic expression. We’ll start our walk along the promenade of Calle Alcalá, where striking murals showcase Oaxaca’s indigenous heritage and social struggles.
As we wander through the streets, we’ll show you hidden alleyways and unexpected corners, where hidden gems of street art await discovery. From the bustling markets of Benito Juárez to the tranquil courtyards of Jalatlaco, each neighborhood offers its own unique canvas for local and international artists to leave their mark. Along the way, we’ll take time to engage with the local community, many of whom are deeply involved in the creation and preservation of Oaxaca’s street art scene. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a cultural explorer, or simply a curious traveler, a street art walk in Oaxaca promises an unforgettable experience filled with creativity and inspiration. We’ll also visit a lithography workshop which has been an essential form of Oaxacan cultural expression since the 1970’s spearheaded by maestro Francisco Toledo.
We’ll get you back to the Coyote Aventuras Office at 1:00PM after a full morning of learning about Oaxaca’s important historical and social movements through its street art!
