Make Rainy Days Free with Sensible Weather

Add an optional Rainy-day Guarantee to your reservation and you will be automatically reimbursed if rain is forecasted to impact your experience (Kayak Pittsburgh does not refund for rain).

How it works

After you complete a booking 3 or more days in advance with Kayak Pittsburgh you will receive an email from kayakpittsburgh@ventureoutdoors.org with instructions to add the weather guarantee. Using a lot of science and a bit of magic, Sensible will watch the weather for you and automatically notify you for reimbursement if it’s going to rain.

Adventure Tips

Arrive Early to Gear Up

Plan to show up at least 10 minutes before your rental to get fitted and receive safety instructions.

Dress for Water

Wear lightweight, quick-drying clothing that can tolerate splashes or brief swims in case of a fall.

Keep Valuables Off the Board

Avoid bringing irreplaceable items because capsizing risk means personal belongings could get lost or damaged.

Follow Weight and Age Limits

Single riders are capped at 210 pounds; under-16 paddlers require guardian accompaniment or consent forms.
