Port Fairy, a charming coastal town on Victoria’s rugged southwestern shore, is an ideal spot for watersport enthusiasts and families alike. Go Surf School invites adventurers to Stand Up Paddleboard on East Beach — Port Fairy’s sheltered stretch of calm water where thrill meets tranquility. This 2-hour paddleboard hire delivers an engaging blend of serene cruising and light surfing in a uniquely approachable setting for beginners and seasoned paddlers.

East Beach lies just around the bend from the town’s historic fishing port, offering a rare mix of sandy shores and a protective rock wall that shelters paddlers from rougher conditions. Paddleboarding here lets you glide beside native wildlife, including pods of dolphins and scattered seals that frequent these waters. It’s a distinctive chance to engage with marine life in their natural environment, making each outing unpredictable and special.

Go Surf School stands out in this seaside community by providing top-tier, soft and stable paddleboards designed specifically for easier balance and control, perfect for all ages. Their inclusive approach, featuring life vests and rash vests for safety and visibility, makes it a popular choice for families seeking active outdoor fun. The location at Battery Lane’s sheltered corner ensures easy access and a protected environment ideal for beginners and those just wanting a relaxed but active adventure.

While there are no onsite bathrooms, the convenience of the setup and the welcoming local vibe make up for it. Paddle up to 100 meters offshore, feel the rhythm of the waves, and dive into a watersport gaining global momentum. Go Surf School’s Stand Up Paddleboard hire captures the essence of Port Fairy’s coastal charm — approachable, fun, and naturally invigorating for anyone looking to connect with Victoria’s ocean playground.

About Go Surf School

Go Surf School is a surf and stand-up paddleboard operator based in Victoria that runs lessons, hires and kids programs across Port Fairy, Warrnambool and Portland. The operation offers beginner surf lessons in Warrnambool and Portland; stand-up paddleboard introductions, hires and guided SUP tours at Port Fairy’s East Beach and on the Moyne River; surfboard hire at East Beach; and multi-day kids holiday programs.

All experiences use provided equipment, including surfboards, stand-up paddleboards and wetsuits, and are delivered by instructors who prioritise safety, progression and ocean awareness. Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding is suitable for participants aged 10 and up, and the Portland Kids Intensive is designed for ages 5–14. Several surf lessons and programs are promoted specifically for beginners and family groups.

Session formats include one-hour lessons, two-hour hires, guided tours and two- or three-day holiday programs. Activities focus on paddling technique, balance, catching small waves, surf safety and practical ocean skills. East Beach in Port Fairy is highlighted as a beginner-friendly surf location, and the Moyne River provides calmer conditions for paddleboard touring.

The mix of hires, lessons, guided tours and intensive junior programs makes Go Surf School suitable for first-time surfers, families seeking active beach days, and young learners developing confidence in the water. Safety briefings, hands-on coaching and age-appropriate progressions are standard components of each offering, and top-quality equipment is provided for every session.
