Most SUP lessons will be at Lauderdale, Cremorne Little Howrah or Bellerive Beach but group lessons can be arranged at other locations around Hobart.
With no surfing experience necessary you can get on a SUP and have stacks of fun. Enjoy our beginner lessons in flat water and experience the feeling of cruising on top of the water and take advantage of the fitness and strength gained from SUP boarding.
SUP boarding can be enjoyed by everyone from 8 to 88 years of age due to the relaxed and easy aspect of the sport. At the start, you can do some flat water paddling at some of Tassies beautiful waterways and then if you are keen you can progress into the surf on small days.
A Private SUP lesson with Coastrider will cover all the necessary basics of Stand Up Paddle Boarding. The first lesson is held in flat water where you will learn the correct stance and paddling techniques to make your paddling smooth and efficient and minimize the risk of injury by paddling incorrectly. Do a private lesson or book in with some mate, we can cater for up to 6 at a time. Book a time convenient for you, before work, after school it’s up to you. Our experienced SUP coach (State SUP representative) will make you lesson plenty of fun and get you ready to progress into SUP surfing on waves.

Start on the foam board or kneel to get used to balance before standing.
