About

Join Beer Hiking Bavaria author Rich Carbonara for a trip to the Staffelberg: to some of the finest small breweries in the Bamberg surroundings. Though Bamberg is home to some of the greatest breweries anywhere, locals know there are even more only a short trip away.

This route is is variable from from 11km/7 miles to 17km/10 miles and takes in up to 6 breweries as well as the stunning Vierzehnheiligen Basilica.

Note there is between 280m/900 ft ascent & 350m/1200 ft over the course of the hike depending on route chosen. There are less routes with less elevation but they do not go over the Staffelberg and some breweries are missed.

*Please note that not all breweries are open all days the tours are offered. Also, small breweries take vacations even during the summer and sometimes close for a day on a whim. While not likely, it is possible that a planned stop might be closed.

Included

Public transport to trail head and guided hiking. First beer is on me. Additional beers and food are at your own expense but prices are very reasonable in the countryside.

Not included

Food and additional beverages.
