Step back in time and hear the extraordinary Maritime History of Young America, told in the shadows of St Simons Island, and Gascoigne Bluff where the Live Oak was cut and shipped for the building of the USS CONSTITUTION "OLD IRON SIDES" from the deck of the War of 1812 Privateer, Lynx. Lynx is a near interpretation of a Baltimore Clipper launched from the shipyard of Thomas Kemp in Fells Point, Maryland in 1812. Today's Lynx serves a platform of history and experiential learning for all who cherish America's Maritime History. Help set sail, haul the lines, roam the wooden decks like they did over 200 years ago. Lynx's crew will talk about the guns and fire one of our 6# Carronades.
Arriving 15 minutes before boarding ensures a smooth start and time to explore the ship before setting sail.
Evenings on the water can cool quickly; bring layered clothing to stay comfortable as temperatures drop after sunset.
Choose shoes with good grip as wooden decks can be slippery, especially when damp.
Have your camera or phone ready to capture breathtaking views during golden hour and the unique moments onboard.
