Elevate your diving skills with the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course over three immersive days on the Gold and Tweed Coast. Gain confidence and safety techniques while earning an internationally recognized certification. SSI Diver Stress and Rescue: Build Confidence & Safety Take your diving to the next level by learning how to prevent and manage problems underwater. This course is designed to make you a safer, more confident diver — for yourself and for your dive buddies. Upon completion, you’ll earn the internationally recognised SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification.


Bonus Experience — Dive Cook Island at No Extra Cost Your course includes a FREE Double Dive Trip to Cook Island Aquatic Reserve (normally $169). Explore this stunning marine sanctuary with two guided dives — included with your course at no extra cost.

Typical Course Schedule:

  • Day 1 | Classroom, exam, and pool session
  • Day 2 | Open water sessions
  • Day 3 | CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration

Rescue + SSI React Right To receive your Diver Stress & Rescue certification, you must present valid First Aid, CPR, and Basic Oxygen nationally recognised Statements of Attainment.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Detect and respond to stress — in yourself and your buddy
  • Practice self-aid and buddy-assist techniques
  • Perform rescue skills for panicked, tired, or unconscious divers
  • Learn missing diver search patterns and surface recovery methods
  • Re-cap of essential Open Water skills to reinforce core competencies
  • Master rescue tows and safe diver transport
  • Understand the full rescue chain and emergency management

Prerequisites:

  • 12+ logged dives
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and O2 certificates (or complete SSI React Right for $199)
  • If you’re over 45 or have any pre-existing medical conditions, you’ll need to complete an AS4005.1 dive medical (valid for one year) before signing up

Additional Info:

  • This course requires at least 2 participants to run (you can book individually)
  • First Aid, CPR, and O2 certification is required for certification (available via SSI React Right)
  • If it's been over 12 months since your last dive, we recommend the SSI Scuba Skills Update Program before starting
