Seacoast Science Center, located in Rye, New Hampshire at Odiorne Point State Park, is a regional marine education facility focused on the Gulf of Maine and coastal ecosystems. The Center offers a mix of hands-on exhibits, aquariums, and touch tanks designed to introduce visitors of all ages to local marine life. Naturalist-led programs guide guests through tide pools, salt marshes, and rocky shore habitats to observe wildlife and learn responsible stewardship practices.
Programming includes family-focused events such as Big Fish Little Fish PLAY DAY for ages 0–5, seasonal Nature Programs exploring diverse habitats, and Music by the Sea — a summer concert series that combines live music with the Center’s outdoor setting. For on-water experiences, the Center partners with local organizations to present Wildlife Kayak Tours and SHEA Wildlife Kayak Tours that highlight estuary ecology and responsible wildlife viewing. Isles of Shoals Excursions provide longer marine and coastal ecology trips departing from nearby Pepperell Cove for ages 8 and up.
Seacoast Science Center also supports educators through SSC Workshops & Webinars, offering professional learning and classroom resources. Admission options include General Admission, Pass Holder Admission, and member-specific entry for SSC Member Admission. Each offering emphasizes education, conservation, and direct engagement with coastal environments to inspire protection of marine ecosystems.
