Embark on a thrilling 3-day rafting adventure through a stunning bush-clad river, featuring grade 2-3 rapids and breathtaking scenery. About

This is one of our favourite multi day rivers!

The beech forest overhangs the river and makes for some amazing scenery. There are various fun rapids on this section of river but it probably one of our more relaxing multi day rivers to experience.

Relax by the campfire while your passionate guides cook all your gourmet meals. Full transport and catering available.

Itinerary Day 1 - 8:00am Please arrive at our base located at 272 Island road, Kaiapoi no later than 8.00am. We will issue all your rafting gear required for the trip and give you a run down of the days events. We like to depart Christchurch no later than 8.30am

Day 1 - 8:30pm Depart Christchurch en route for the river. This will take 3 hours to get to the put in. Plenty of toilet and pie stops along the way.

Day 1 - 11-12:00 pm Arrive at the river and gear up ready for our 3 day adventure. Pack all gear and load the boats. Your guides will deliver a safety briefing prior to boarding the rafts.

Day 1 - 2-3:00pm After boarding the rafts we are in for a fun filled few hours of rafting grade 2-3 rapids to our first campsite nestled amongst the bush riverside, where you guides will cook dinner and desert while you explore or go fishing or hunting for the evening.

Day 2 - 9:00am Begin the day with a leisurely cooked breakfast then prepare to leave camp for more rafting adventures downstream. We depart camp at 10:00am to further explore the scenic bush clad river and its surroundings. This stretch of river is full of great pools for fishing if thats what you are into.

Day 2 - 12:00pm Stopping for lunch on river, we get to stretch our legs before getting into some more exciting grade 2-3 rafting as we head for camp site number 2.

Day 2 - 2-3:00pm We arrive at camp and set up. There is plenty of time for a spot of fishing, hunting or relaxing riverside before your guides again get cracking in the camp kitchen. The fishing at our campsite can sometimes be amazing (not always).

Day 3 - 9:00am Begin the day with a leisurely cooked breakfast then prepare to leave camp for more rafting adventures downstream. There is an opportunity for a morning hunt or fish before breakfast or hell even some riverside yoga if you wish! We then raft downstream for a few hours to the end of your adventure

Day 3 - 1-2:00pm Reaching the end of our trip we disembark, get changed and load up for the journey home.

Day 3 - 6:00pm We arrive back at our base where you are free to go home and dream about your next adventure.

Arrive Early for Full Trip Prep

Be at the Kaiapoi base by 8:00 AM to gear up and attend the safety briefing before departure.

Bring Waterproof Gear Bags

Keep personal belongings dry during rafting with reliable waterproof bags or cases.

Prepare for Variable Weather

Layer appropriately and bring rain protection as New Zealand’s weather can shift quickly.

Check Physical Readiness

Moderate fitness is needed to paddle and carry gear; be ready for 6-7 hours on the water each day.
