Experience the flavors of the Revolutionary War at Folsom Tavern! Enjoy a seated meal featuring historical drinks like liberty tea and Martha Washington's drinking chocolate, all while costumed interpreters share captivating stories. Connect with friends, old and new, as you savor the tastes that fueled America's fight for independence.
Participants will get to see, smell and taste revolutionary war history. Everyone will have a seated meal where they get to try all sorts of historical drinks just like tavern goers enjoyed in the 18th Century when Folsom Tavern was a fully operating tavern. Costumed interpreters will provide historical context for the beverages and food while they get to spend time with friends old and new.
On offer will be a variety of historical beverages including: tea of the style imported into 18th Century America, “liberty tea” which folks were making from locally available herbs when boycotting British tea, Drinking chocolate which was preferred by Martha Washington, and coffee which was sipped by the founding fathers while they debated democracy before and during the revolutionary war. Some food will also be available.
