A narrow channel opens as the morning light eases over Goa's northern backwaters, and the kayak slips forward with the current. Mangrove roots reach like hands into dark water; kingfishers flash from exposed branches and the river seems to breathe around you. Guides brief the group on strokes and safety, then the small fleet pushes into quiet side channels where the tide decides how far you can explore.
