A low Arctic sun slants through the ridgelines as the van unhooks from Tromsø and the road threads fjord shoulders toward the Lyngen Alps. Snow crunches under newly fitted snowshoes; the air is thin and sharp, and the mountains press close, their flanks dropping into glassy fjord water. Guides set the pace, stopping often so the group can drink in the vista and test tracks in fresh powder.

Moderate cardiovascular fitness and the ability to walk on uneven snow for several hours; not suitable for poor heart conditions.
Participants should have moderate fitness—able to hike 5–8 km roundtrip with 300–500 m elevation gain while wearing snowshoes; guides adjust pace for the group.
Snowshoes and basic instruction are provided; bring appropriate boots, layered clothing, and any personal items like sunglasses and a camera.

This is a daytime activity focused on snowshoeing and cultural visits; auroras are not a typical feature of the scheduled daytime tour.
