A cold morning at the large Grasgehren car park, breath visible, boots crunching on wind-pressed snow—this is where the day begins. Guides fit snowshoes and tighten poles, and the group steps off onto the plateau where the trees open and the ridge-lines of the Allgäu come into view. The snow dares you to move forward; the trail answers with compacted tracks and silent, wide perspectives.
