Egmont Key State Park is an island in the mouth of Tampa Bay. Walk the cobblestone streets of the historic 19th-century Fort Dade and visit the Egmont Key Lighthouse. Don’t be surprised when you come across one of the locals, aka Gopher tortoises and nesting birds, who you will find along the trails and beaches. Snorkeling the submerged historical structures of batteries Burchstead and Page, which host corals, tunicates, sponges and many fish species. There is something for everyone on Egmont Key.
