Sleepaway Camp VIP Screening with Felissa Rose at The West Theater

At The West Theater in Barberton, Ohio, an evening of cult-horror, conversation, and late-night socializing comes to life with the Sleepaway Camp Screening — a VIP experience hosted by Felissa Rose. Located at 1017 Wooster Rd W, The West Theater's classic marquee and intimate auditorium set the stage for a communal watch-along, followed by a 60-minute Q&A and a two-hour VIP afterparty at the theater bar. The event centers on the film itself, the cult classic Sleepaway Camp, and on Felissa Rose, who appears to share behind-the-scenes stories and lore. Inside the theater you'll find a traditional single-screen layout: a projection screen framed by a raised stage, rows of theater seating close to the action, and a low-lit lobby that opens into a compact bar area. These are the structural features that shape the night: the marquee-lit entry, the hush of the auditorium, the bright screen, and the convivial bar where conversations continue after the credits roll. Expect the energy of a packed house and the tactile details of old-school cinema: concession counters, creaking floorboards, and the rumble of a projector. This experience is unique to Barberton because it brings a genre-specific cultural moment to a small-city stage. The West Theater functions as more than a screening room; it acts as a community hub that supports live Q&As and localized nightlife. For fans of horror and film history, this is a rare chance to hear first-hand recollections from a principal actor and to compare notes with fellow devotees in an intimate setting. Practical details matter: doors open at 6:00 PM, the movie begins at 7:00 PM, and the VIP afterparty runs from 10:00 PM to midnight. A swag bag, a cash bar, and a concession stand are included in the VIP package, and the ticket grants access to the full evening. Note that refunds are not offered, so confirm plans before you buy. Whether you travel from nearby Akron or are visiting Barberton for a weekend, plan to arrive early for parking and line placement, bring a photo ID for the bar, and leave room in your schedule for the afterparty. This is an ideal night out for adults and older teens (ages 12+), blending film appreciation with social nightlife in a venue that keeps regional film culture alive. Nearby eateries and a handful of late-night coffee spots make for pre- or post-show pit stops, and local parking is limited on Wooster Road during events, so consider rideshare or nearby municipal lots. Accessible seating and amenities may vary by event, so check The West Theater's listing or the event page for specific accessibility details before attending. Bring a small layer for the bar and plan to savor the communal experience.
