The Flying Fish is an 85ft. aluminum vessel constructed by the world-renowned Gulf Craft Inc. The 70 passenger vessel has a large salon with ample cushioned seating, a galley, two restrooms, and a sun deck for panoramic views of the Gulf.
The Flying Fish II is a 50ft. by 16ft. wide solid fiberglass vessel able to handle up to 24 passengers. She provides an excellent fishing platform and is equipped with air conditioning and a restroom.
We use both boats for our party fishing excursions. Depending on group sizes we will decide which boat is used for each trip that morning
You can expect to catch pan-sized fish including White Grunts, Sand Perch, Porgies, Lane Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, and Black Sea Bass. These fish average 0.5-2 lbs and are excellent to eat and fun to catch. We also bring in King Mackerel and Spanish Mackerel in season. Grouper are caught but keeper size fish are less frequent.
Captain and crew offer a fish cleaning service for $0.50/fish at the end of the trip. Cash only.
We run year round, seas permitting, so we suggest you have a hat, sun block, sun glasses, cash for food/drink and fish cleaning and a bait towel for dirty hands. If the weather looks questionable, a poncho or other rain protection is suggested. In addition, if your trip leaves early in the morning, the temperature may be cooler, so you may want to dress in layers.
Our head boats (party boats) have a cash galley that sells snacks and drinks or you may bring your own food and drink in a small cooler, no larger than 12″ inches by 20″ inches, on board. We ask that there be NO glass containers of any kind.
Rods, reels, tackle, bait and fishing licenses are included in your fare however you may bring your own equipment. No braided line is allowed, please use Monofilament only. If you chose to bring your own rod and reel you will need to bring your own tackle. We will not re-rig personal rods as it will detract from providing optimum service to the entire boat.
Our captain and crew work like waiters in a restaurant, they depend on tips to make ends meet. If you think they did a good job please show your appreciation by tipping them at the end of the trip, 20% is customary for good service. A 20% gratuity will be collected at check in for parties of 6 people or more.
If you have coupons, fish pool jackpot vouchers or gift certificates issued please call to book your reservation and let us know about your discount. You MUST present your discount voucher or gift certificate when you check in the day of your trip.
