A dusted road rises out of Granada and the city shrinks beneath a ribbon of olive groves and scrub. The 4x4 climbs ancient tracks—routes used by Visigoths and later by the Arabs—stitching through pine forest before opening onto a high, wind‑sculpted plateau at roughly 2,500 meters. From here the skyline is dominated by the blunt mass of Mulhacén and the serrated ridgeline of the Sierra Nevada; the hut’s terrace makes a practical perch for a drink and a long look.
