Aloha, and welcome to beautiful Waikiki! The Shaxi Diamond Head Hiking and Waikiki Tour is a unique tour, only offered by Shaxi. It combines our regular Shaxi Waikiki Tour, where you’ll see many landmarks, stops for photos, and learn the history of Waikiki, before you get dropped off, at the base of your 2 hour hike, inside the world famous Diamond Head Volcano. This gives you time to hike the summit at your own pace, before getting picked up to complete the Waikiki Tour, at Leaonard’s Bakery, (a great way to treat yourself, after your hike!) It’s the perfect way to get to see and learn the history and sites of Waikiki, and of course, hike one of the most famous and popular tourist attractions, in the State of Hawaii…Diamond Head Crater!

You haven't been to Waikiki if you haven't hiked the iconic and beautiful Diamond Head Crater! Shaxi will pick you and your friends up at your hotel in the Waikiki area. You will enjoy learning about lots of historical sites and facts on the way to the Diamond Head State Monument Park. Diamond Head is one of the most famous landmarks in the State of Hawaii. It used to be an active volcano, over 400,000 years ago, but now is a very popular sightseeing/hiking spot for travelers from all over the world! The Diamond Head area also has other interesting sites to explore like The Leahi Millennium Peace Garden, Fort Ruger Pathway, and the perfect photo op with a breathtaking view, of Koko Head Crater and Hanauma Crater, etc, from the lookout, just before you go through the tunnel to hike to the crater. The Fort Ruger Pathway is very popular for joggers and walkers with exercise spots along the way. Remember to wear proper clothes and closed toe footwear (sneakers are recommended) for your hike!

Age Restriction – None, however, the State of Hawaii requires ALL Keike (children) from infancy to 10 years old, (or 4’9” and/or 80lbs) to be seated in an appropriate child car seat/booster seat. Shaxi guests must provide their own car seat for their Keiki. Mahalo
*Diamond Head Reservations – Once you book your tour with us, you will receive an email or text with explicit instructions from Shaxi, on how to book your reservation time online, to get your QR code. Weather - You may want to bring a light jacket, sweater, or a rain jacket, depending on the forecast. It can be a bit chilly in the morning at the top, at certain times of the year, so please come prepared. If you bring any items that you don’t want to take on your hike, (backpacks, extra clothing, hats, etc) you are more than welcome to leave them on the Shaxi Tour Van, where they will be safely locked up, during your hike.
