The facility at 2930 S Cauthen Point provides a welcoming, expertly managed space where archery enthusiasts can engage with varied target setups and friendly fellow shooters.
The Indoor Archery League at Outpost is unique in that it offers multiple target options including ASA Indoor, Vegas, NFAA 5 Spot, and Single Spot disciplines, which exposes participants to different scoring challenges and sharpens diverse shooting skills. Whether you bring your own bow—compound or traditional recurve—or rent one on-site, the range’s knowledgeable staff is on hand to assist and support all skill levels. Their dedication to safety and inclusivity creates a relaxed yet focused atmosphere where competitors can thrive.
One of the standout features of these Thursday night shoots is the "Lucky Dog Shoot Off," a thrilling finale where every archer competes for bragging rights with a single arrow on the line. This adds a layer of excitement and camaraderie that sets Outpost’s league apart. Beyond the sport, it’s a social hub within the local outdoor community, fostering connection and encouraging new archers to grow their passion.
Lecanto itself is a quiet town nestled amid Florida’s lush woodlands, offering an offbeat outdoor base for travelers exploring Citrus County. The range’s indoor setting is especially appealing during the warmer months and humid days when outdoor shooting isn’t ideal. The ease of access and affordable pricing ($10 per shoot or $35 for a full league) make this a compelling weekly activity for locals and visitors staying nearby.
For visitors, the league represents a chance to step off the beaten path and experience a skill-based outdoor sport with a twist. Archery is an ancient discipline with a modern twist here—precision, patience, and a supportive community all under one roof.
